Setting up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Two-factor authentication is a security measure used to ensure account activity is legitimate and authorized. Cryptal recommends Google Authenticator to provide one-time passcodes. Other compatible TOTP applications may also be used.

mceclip1.png To use Google Authenticator, download the app to your phone.
 
  • Log into Cryptal and go to the Profile Settings page
  • Enable Google Authentication by clicking the button to the right

  • A QR code will appear.
  • Enter this into the Google Authenticator app by clicking mceclip1.png and then select Scan a QR code. Position your phone's camera lens in front of the code to add Cryptal 

Each Google Authenticator code is valid for 30 seconds, so only use a code while it is displayed. Otherwise, just use the next generated code.
